The unique thing about the sandwich run is that it connects students and works with them to take ownership of a service opportunity. This year’s flyer designer is none other than Columbus College of Art and Design’s (CCAD), Okell Lee.
Okell brought back the Midnight Sandwich Run to CCAD after a two year hiatus. As President of the Black Student Leaders Association, Okell wanted to not only broaden the scope of what’s possible at the CCAD, but to also broaden the scope of what’s around CCAD.
The school is located in downtown Columbus and mere blocks from two of the city’s largest shelters, Faith Missions and The Downtown YMCA. With the reality of the homeless in everyday sight, Okell knew this was a time of action. So he did what he could do, to make the Midnight Sandwich Run a reality this fall
Okell we thank you for your vision, effort, and your support to help us end hunger for the homeless!
It’s here! You didn’t have to wait a whole entire year to enjoy the awesome service project called, The Midnight Sandwich Run. This year we are stepping it up to bring you the first ever, Spring Run.
Along with the other runs we have increased our goal to effectively end hunger for a weekend. Our goal this Spring is to feed 6000, 1000 more than Fall 2014. We look forward to deploying 2000 bags each night, (March 27, 28, and 29, 2015) in Columbus, Ohio startingt at 6:30 pm.
We know we aren’t the only ones who want to end hunger and we can’t do this alone, please click here to access the “links” and sign up!
